[Phoenix FD] - How do I bake a simulation to an animated mesh?
show user profile  9krausec
Anyone know how to do this? I'm not having much luck.

Best,

Open collada is your friend.

[edit] didn't read your title properly. I'm not sure about phoenix FD. You and your bloody obscure programs lately.

^lol

Apparently in Maya you can't export the mesh out. It's fine though, I'll work around it.

PhoenixFD/Maya/Vray/Deadline - Not that obscure. ;)

Sounds like they just added this feature in the most recent nightly. Also I've been working with one of the developers to have him fix a bug that was inhibiting me from blending two materials together on the fluid mesh (why I wanted to export as a mesh to do a work around).

All gooooood. Thanks.

After learning that hardly no render farms support Phoenix for Maya 2016 yet.. I was forced to revisit trying to extract the mesh from Phoenix... Found a solution after thinking about it for a while. Made a video to help others. Good thing this is a forum for 3ds Max or this Maya video would be totally useless to the community, ha-

This is why all 3rd party rendering services suck... except for mine.

But then again, like that of many men out there with ED; I too couldn't get it up (in time).

Haha. No hard feelings Marko. I gave you ZERO notice. I however appreciate your honesty about it. Keepin' it real as always.
