My new PC game with Windows 8.1 - any problems running max 2011 on it?

Few minutes spent with win8.1 and I can say I hate it from the very depths of my heart. Any known issues running max 2011 or previous versions on it?

If you're on a fresh computer, no reason not to try the Win10 tech preview.

It's what 8 should have been.

But only half of what Windows 9 could've been.

oh common, it's fucking microsoft.

people would really appreciate how great windows is if they started trying to code together systems for computers.

it's mind-fucking-boggling how complicated and variation-al it is.

the fact it works as well as it does and has a near infinite number of arraignments is a testament to it's companies capability.

I'm with bolt on this one.
Never had a problem with MS. I think win7 is great. Can't see any reason a professional would install win 8 or 8.1

Also agree with Bolt.

Windows 10 is actually pretty damned good. I love Windows 7, but the tech preview of Windows 10 is pretty amazing.

Windows 8, I do not like so much.

I've had issues with Windows 8 and rendering with Vray. During long animation renders it would consistently crash. Reverted back to win7 and everything worked fine..

This was about a year ago so it might be working fine now...

lols I was having a jab at Microsoft for their retail version naming. Not trying to put this thread on the inevitable windows/microsoft derailment :)

I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit. And I like it.

It's a bit confusing for the first time, sure. So I think everything that people hate about Windows 8.1, is the change.

P.S.: Max 2009 works fine on it. Except you better use 2011 or 2013 version.

Congrats, you found my signature.

Looking forward to trying out Windows 10.. I love Win7, it's quick and it never gets in the way..

Not a fan of Win8 on a desktop the GUI seems to me a bit of a pointless abstraction, although apparently it is actually faster boot time etc than Win7, i've never compared..

Remember how windows xp used to slow down eventually, the more stuff you installed etc, eventually you'd have to do a clean install to get back up to speed - i've never experience any of that with Win 7 at all..

Ok. Thank's for the suggestions guys. Consensus seem to be that install Windows 10 tech preview, but no problems on Win 8.1.

Any problems finding drivers for Win 10? Rgds,

Running windows 8.1 and agree with Silard, actually prefer it to win 7 now.
