Parallel edges
show user profile  sheheryar_noor
Hi guys, i wanted to add parallel edges to this thing "
" i don't need curve in horizontal edges . I have added some edges but the top portion is empty, i want to add edges with same distance to top area. I am doing it manually(add an edge and keep pulling down and up the vertices) to get the shape but it is taking me too much time.
Is there any script to add parallel(means no curve) edge with same distance
If anyone have the easy way in mind, would like to share?

This is how the model looks like

Just make the top line that you want to cut parallel (by pressing connect, turning on edge constraint and hitting the z for align axis, or scaling downwards on the z axis). Now select the ring below and press connect. Bam.

herfst1 thats what i have done, ring the vertical edge then connect and make planar along Z axis to make the line straight then add more edges which are straight but then i can't get same pattern at top.
I was just asking if there would be a script for it :) else the easy way is the to make both borders straight, add edges, delete unwanted top polygons to get this shape and boom :D
--Final image but it took me a while to do that, maybe i couldn't explain well what i wanted.Mike i have seen you on FB before :P
