Panormaics & Virtual Tour Questions
show user profile  Jock
Not sure if this is possible within software that's already out there or if i'd need some specialist piece of kit, but if i explain what i'm after, someone might be able to point me in the right direction.

So basically what i want is almost like a virtual tour of a house, the way my initial thoughts are leaning towards is that this would be made up with a series of panoramic views, one in each room basically. Now the first idea is that somehow you'd be able to say click on a door to another room within that panoramic and it would open up the panoramic view in the new room, so you could essentially make your way through the house, using a series of different views for each room. Can this be easily achieved, and of so, using what program?

Another idea is that i would like a panoramic view of say a given room, say a living room, and at the click of a button, the wall colour would change, or the flooring finish would change. Now i don't know if it would basically need to almost load up a new panoramic view with those changes made, or if its somehow possible to do it within the same view.

Also, i don't know if you guys are familiar with Turbosquid and the new 'turntables' they have but i'd also like to implement something like that whereby, you take a series of images round a given object, say a house, but rather than an animation as such, the user has a slider and basically controls where he wants to go on that given path. So its essentially an animation but rather than hit play, the user uses a slider to control what part of the animation he wants to look at. I'm not sure if quicktime itself is appropriate as it would just want to play the animation rather than use it like im suggesting. Anything come to mind for what i'm after?

our stuff can do that - you basically put hyperlinks on the panoramas leading to other panoramas.

you can do 360s in qt & flash too. not sure if they support hyperlinks.

or build from scratch in webgl.
