Awesome. I've been wondering what happened to him for more than a decade now.

I ended up researching about deep render passes after watching that. Crazy awesome.

From what I remember of Digital Freebaser, he was indeed a skilled doodle!
I'm not surprised that he ended up at ILM :)

I remember DF from back in the day. He did this beautiful render of these Mediterranean steps. along with his uber fighter plane and there was an interior he did with flowing curtains that really inspired me.

I wanna know what happened to Firestarter/Aaron Asorson. I remember his rants from back in the day. He quit being a 3d monkey and started his own studio but I think that went under. Anyone have anymore info?

This is what Erik Assorsan does these days.

He starts literal fires now.

Wow. I'm really impressed with his ability to completely change his career. I remember a few posts from back in the day he would talk about hiking and how his Dad used to do it.

Complete 180 from sitting behind a PC all day long pushing polygons around.

Hi Andy. Always good to see an old face here! It's been a decade now since I've updated my website. I might update it one day. :)

Im so glad you said that Andy, I didnt know you had a script section Nik. Just using your snow script now... and THANK YOU big time bud!

edit: i wish it didnt kick up the edges with the noise modifier though, maybe a bit of tweaking is required. Also fyi Im not sure how it reacts with 2014, every time i tried to adjust the settings it would come out the exact same no matter what I changed them too.

Yeah, it's not the best script! There is a commercial one now that works much better. A lot of my scripts were made around max 4/5, and I wasn't very good at it back then. Sadly, my current stuff is all owned by work and I can't give it out. Having said that, I'm still not good at providing usable interfaces.
