I'm all about that Surface Pro man. I've been hunting for a SP3 on Craigslist now for the last few weeks. Not about that full price game at all.

Not an apple man myself. But even so, for that price I would get a windows tablet instead, So I could use the same programs as I have on my PC.. Or the option to run Linux if I wanted.
Currently have the old Galaxy Note 8, and I am crap at drawing on it.. I blame the whole lack of wrist-resting area.. It just never feels the same as regular paper on a table.

Terribly boring signature.

TiMoN - the Pencil with it's pressure sensitivity and zero latency is just amazing . and has awesome palm rejection, so wrist resting isnt an issue.

yup, it's laptop pricing for a non laptop software run tablet. personally i'm a Windows man, but Apple stuff is just the shit! i love it.

It's not the wrist smudging that is the issue, its the floating tablet thing.. I am just used to drawing at a table, and then rotating the paper when I need to draw certain curves / directions.
My old Galaxy Note 8 has a Wacom Stylus (I think) with preassure sensitivity and low latency, with some sort of hand vs. stylus detection.

Just saw a teardown at Ifixit, and it seems like a lot of internal space on the iPad pro i used/wasted on speakers and resonance chambers.. If you work with sound/music, I assume that you would plug the tablet into a proper Amp and speaker system.. Assume that some more battery would have been more useful, but heavier of course.
I love teardowns:

teardowns mean nothing to me. all a foreign language :)

yes, they reckon less speaker accommodation would give better battery life (and more wight) by potentially another 50%.

the Pro is really surprisingly light to hold. very thin, and most agile in feel. infact it's lighter and thinner with 70%+ more screen space than the original ipad1. and it's wifi is lighting. it's a fabulous bit of kit, even if it does cost a small mortgage.

So strat, did you get it? How is it?
I'm curious about drawing on it. I have the Wacom creative pen on an iPad mini and it's a nightmare to draw on because the palm rejection is do bad you have to keep your hand from touching the screen or you get problems.
So I'm curious as how did Apple solve these problems

Hey Strat, i was wondering, if you buy it for the amazing drawing capabilities, did you consider a Cintiq at all?

joel - yup, per-ordered it from Apple, turned up the following day (yesterday). Their new Pencil and keyboard are in super short supply though. another week wait ion those.

it's beautiful. real joy to hold and look at. gorgeous screen. really fast. infact so fast i doubt there's any apps that can properly utilise it's speed (claimed to be faster than 80% of general laptops sold last year).

palm rejection great, but app driven. some apps use it some havent yet.

the success of this thing will be devs jumping on board and producing desktop class apps.

ijzerman - no. my primary use of a tablet isnt drawing. i dont generally draw, i will be, but not dedicatedly. a wacom would be wasted on me.
