Are you by any chance in the camera viewport? Because shortcuts change for cameras for some reason.

i try the ALT+MMB in any view (left, top, perspective, user, camera) but it wont work. Ive been using 3dsMax2009 and just upgraded to 2013 and it doesnt work at all. I see some people say there is a lag, but it simply does NOT work at all. My mouse buttons are set up as they usually are but nothing is working. Is there a new specific setting? Is it my drive that doesnt understand it?

Is that true? We've got a guy trial'ing 2013 at work and he hasn't mentioned anything about this... he is a bit of a retard though, I got jokes!

If that's the case it's a bit of a drawback since the rationale behind max's viewport navigation is slightly better that maya's.

I just wandered over to the desk of the guy using 2013 and asked him if there were any changes to navigation, he said no... I sat down and had a play... everything was normal.

He did admit to switching the colour scheme back to a Max 2009 version... and I suspect he may have also reverted other UI configurations in the process.

Someone around here must have 2013 right?

I remember reading it in a press release about 2013 and did a quick search for max 2013 navigation mimicking Maya.

Now I don't have 2013 to test for myself, but I remember when I read it that I was pretty cut about it. It's not the sort of thing you should do to your user base. Anyway, if dlangstrom can test out the maya controls, that would be cool.

Here (http://area.autodesk.com/blogs/ken/3ds_max_2013_announced) it says it's a mode that can be enabled. Maybe dlangstrom has accidentally enabled it?

And it's good to be back. I've been so busy working that MF was a distraction I couldn't afford. Now things are easing a little, I can breathe :)
