Bought a home copy of Zbrush and have started up a new character based on EDOUARD GUITON's awesome concepts. Do not go here unless you want something new to work on. You won't be able to help yourself. You have been warned

Anyway all zbrush so far. I will get in to max eventually.

I actually thought you were referencing the hardcore DJ Ophidian, but still impressed none the less :)

Hey Brophy, I'm fascinated by the front grill. I went to sleep trying to work out how you made it so cleanly. Here's my guess: you made it in shadowbox as a flat piece, chamfered the edges using trim dynamic and then bent it using masking and rotate. Am I close?

Thanks all. Just piddling away at lunch.

Herf - close. I masked a plane and extracted it. This gives me front, back and middle polygroups. I then edge loop the inside and inflate the outer edge. I think there are a lot of videos on this on the webs. If you cant find one let me know and I will see what I can do. On the back piece I made a new MM brush with a nice bevel. I like this look a lot more. Hard to see in the render. Also toying with some new render styles for this.

Thanks Brophy. Those are techniques I've actually never heard of. I looked up on zbrushcentral and found out how to extract - surprisingly easy compared to shadowbox. I'm really going to enjoy using this skill. I've never tried edge looping before, found it quite tricky (for a noob) but I'm sure I'll get it sooner or later.

As for your pic... depressing as hell. You have to do more of these threads, it's a serious eye opener to what can be achieved in zbrush.

Herf - thanks. Honestly I am not doing anything in these that has not been on zbrush's site in vids. Trying some new approaches to making armor. Looks to curve for my taste. Back to the drawing board!!

amazing stuff man! is there any way you could email me your lighting/render setup so I can see what you've done? Without the model of course. I love the setup

He who says it cannot be done is interrupting the man doing it.

Some dof, heavy vignetting and possibly some subtle chromatic aberration and you're game ;]
