Is it possible to open a .stp file in 3DS? If yes how? Thanks a lot.

nope... step files are cad data...
you need a tesselator like right hemisphere to do the conversion for you well.
that or a plugin for max, google would help you on that. i would recommend trying to do it through a real convertor though.

Thanks for the reply. Well I guess I'll buy a converter if I must, kinda expensive for the budget though.
So I should be able to open the .stp file with AutoCAD Right? I'm more of a flash guy so this is all new too me.

well, you can buy the software... or you can pay a studio like my own to convert it for you... kinda depends on how many times you need it done.
