Old 3D Studio Max book
show user profile  PS3D
Just found my old 3D Studio Max 3 book, and wondered if anyone else had one similar, or even an earlier version!

Ha ha, I just threw away my Max 2.5 bible and my old 3ds4DOS books. Damn, should have taken a picture.

Surprised it's not carved into stone tablets.

I think I had one of them somewhere. Remember when max used to come in a big square box with all the help docs and books?

I do, Daniel. I threw away every book from Max 3 to the last one with books (Max 9?) not long ago. It's an amazing amount of paper that I never referred to.

I have "3D Studio Max Fundamentals" through to "3DS Max 9 Bible".
I haven't thrown any away. Infact I use the max 9 bible every day!

My books go back to autocad 10 and 3d Studio R2 (before it was called MAX) for DOS.

[EDIT] the hardcover autocad book in the middle with the red stripes at the top of the binding is original reference manual for autocad 10 from Feb 1989. I was in middle school at that point and just starting with CAD drawing. the original cad programs that we had were basic with only 20 or 30 commands. it was all controlled with a joystick controller. And we had a flatbed 8.5x11 pen plotter. it actually used small, 2" tall pens. the paper was held down by a magnet on the side. I can not even find a picture of it online.

I used to love watching those old flat bed plotters with the pens. Not the same watching a print come out now! Haha!

While we're all reminiscing about the past, does anyone have any old renders they did when they were just starting out?? Here's one of mine!
(Apologies if this thread has already been done)
