On the one hand, he has stolen from his employer. On the other hand, he is 80, and he did rescue it FROM THE FUCKING MOON!!1!

Hopefully NASA will just let him return it and leave it at that.

Well it's only alleged he didn't put in a report that he was going to keep it. He can just claim that he put the report in and it got lost in the bureaucracy, he can cite NASA losing a lot of vital footage as precedent.

Duh. He's a world hero.. He went the the damn moon for shit sakes.. Let him just keep the camera that Nasa didn't want...

(although, by taking it back with him, couldn't he have endangered the mission by adding weight to the ride back home? I don't know how specific nasa is, but I assume they are rather specific).
