object won't take material

I made a potato chip bag, it looks great but now it won't take the material.

make sure its unwrapped, and that you're not in sub-object mode.

I'm def not in sub-object mode what do mean by unwrapped? I keep having this problem with a lot of objects I make.

Try a UVW modifier, and make sure the real world scale is off since it is most likely not built to the real world scale. It might have the texture on it, but so tiled that it looks like a solid color.

Try to keep all questions about a single project in a single thread. You already have a thread about modeling the bag. No need to start a new one about the texturing, just continue in the old one.
