Nvidia Error code 8?
show user profile  9krausec
Hey guys,

Have any of you come across this error code in 3ds (or whatever else you may use)? I've just recently started getting this error code frequently with Maya (running a couple 980 GTX cards) and it's pissing me right off...

Tried rolling back drivers and throwing eggs at Nvidia HQ (still no fix).

Thanks for any help or knowledge in this matter.

Update: I think it's fixed.

I rolled back to 345.20. Problem is gone. I believe the culprit to be something called Nvidia Powermizer (stupid, stupid name). If you come across this issue yourself, this is what I would try first before rolling back-

Turn this to performance mode-

Disable Powermizer in your registry (or try a program like this)- http://www.overclock.net/t/683583/how-to-adjust-nvidias-powermizer

I did not test that program that I just posted so I'm not vouching for it.

If you still have problems then rolling back to 345.20 should help out. Hopefully this information can be of use to some of you here if you ever come across this issue.

Thanks,
Clayton

Is this something you might be able to change in the windows services at startup option?

Thanks for the update.

It's a shame you have to use old drivers with these brand new graphics cards. You're probably not getting the most performance out of them.
