Nursery Scene
show user profile  rob@dynamic
In the next few weeks we shall be decorating the nursery for mine and the wifes first child :-) So what better project to get my inspired to do 3d again?

As always comments and crits are not just welcomed but encouraged.

Usual weapons of choice used; 3DS Max and Mental Ray.

Very nice!

A couple of things: More samples on the wood texture on the door. The wooden drawers look a bit like it's one texture with box mapping. Some variation would improve it. The rug on the floor is too white. Also, there seems to be a patch of mold on the ceiling in the corner.

Really nice light though. I like it.

Cheers for crits Nik.

The wooden drawers look a bit like it's one texture with box mapping.
Got it in one ;-) Will rework that texture, I was being lazy.

The rug was a 1st test render. Will knock the white back in next render.

hmmm, not sure how mold has got there :-) Will look into that.

Thanks again mate

The doors are super shiny.. I don't know if more samples would make it look better, but....

Good scene man and I don't even like kids.

Uhm.. that is not really too cheerful of a paint color for a kid, huh? I painted my little niece's room yellow and orange :)

Doors look very institutional.. but then I don't know of the decor of the remaining areas of your house.

Hi all, thanks for the comments so far.

Asides from the obvious changes, I've redone the draws texture, fixed the white rug and added more samples to the wood textures.

Hope you guys like the updates. Next up is a scatering of toys across the floor.

C&C please;

Also a big thanks to dd for the teddy model :-)

Well, regardless of the sex, you should add some sort of decor...

LOL grotey hanging :P

Beautiful.

few things -

that foot rug looks odd now, but am sure with the displacement it would look much better
curtains should be full lenght, somehow these half ones create a odd feeling.
Few toys

The wood grains look a bit on, on the door as well as the cupboard.

keep it up.
