Anyone here use Norton Internet Security?
show user profile  zenonithus
I'm thinking about wiping my hardrive, was wondering if anyone knew if you can re-install this without problems as long as you have the serial etc? Also If I create a dual boot system can I install it on both systems using the same licence?

I'm using Norton Internet Security 2008, which is basically the whole package.

My sister installed that and it ballsed up her new laptop. Steer clear of Norton!

Try AVG, i like that, just be sure to change the update settings or else you will be pretty pissed everytime you start your computer up!!

Norton = major suckage.

AVG, Zonealarm, Spybot, Adaware.
Free and doesn't cripple the PC.

agreed with all people here! My neighbor is the sales manager for Norton in Czech Republic. He gave us north Internet security 08 as a gift. it is truly shit. you cant even close it without going to windows task manager. and it just messes everything up.

Aye, all in all... Norton's got a pretty bad rep from those with an above average literacy in computing. And what with everyone getting smater (debatably), it shouldn't be long before they're out of business... in theory.

AVG blows. There, I said it.

If you want a good virus protection I think the only way to go is the commercial route, however choosing Norton is a shot in the foot. My money goes to Kaspersky, I haven't been able to find a better antivirus.

AVG is slightly "blowy", true. For free, it's not too bad though, and it's quite light on resources.

It by no means catches all viruses, it's worth pointing out.

All a matter of perspective I guess, and yes, for a free AV program it's not bad.

I am starting to think the people who make virus detection software for sale are the ones who make 98% of the virus or is it viri?

anyways I'm told Trend Micro is the better of payed detections but at some point they all seem to not want to "update" which makes me think a virus is lurking.
