Normals map+ mr Fast Skin = Fail?
show user profile  ravihara
Guys, I'm having a difficulty of applying normals maps to mr Fast skin material. the whole thing looks 'wrong'. is there a specific way i must apply it? currently i just plugged it in to bump node of the fast skin material and when i crank the value up, it is totally messed up. :/

Post a pic of the result plus your settings.

Is your problem seams? or is it too much bump? Incorrect bump? Is it bumping outwards when it should be bumping inwards?

If seams are the issue - make sure to bake your normals map in 3ds using projection.
If there's too much bump - turn down the multiplier.
If there's incorrect bump - check in PS whether your map's upside down.
If it's bumping out instead of in - invert the green channel in PS.

If you post a pic it will be easier to help.

i figured it out finally. first my setup was this :

which gave me strange artifacts and seams.

but i then connected it like this with a normal bump node and everything is fine.

isn't it the right method guys?
