nm8r's Holiday HDRI Greetings!
show user profile  nm8r

I didn't have much time to work on the rendering (it's crappy but it's the thought that counts) but I'm giving away the spherical panoramic HDR image I made myself and used for this. Have fun with it if any of you want to use it.

Here's my holiday present to everyone at Maxforums. http://bit.ly/rqqyNr

I got a Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM lens for Christmas! I'll be shooting more spherical panoramic HDRI and will share some more in 2012.

I used the lens at 8mm on a Canon 5D MK II @ f/16, Really Right Stuff pano rig, Manfrotto 300n pano head and a Promote Control device to shoot 5 exposures at 3EV and 3 sets at 120 degree increments. I used Adobe Bridge - Camera Raw to process RAW files to 16bit TIFFs and stitched them with PTGui then cleaned up the 32bit EXR's Zenith & Nadir in PS with Flexify2.
The final exr file is close to 8K with the 8mm and can take less than a minute to shoot. I've shot with 15mm and the results are great but I have to deal with 40 pictures (6 images @360degrees and 2 for Zenith and Nadir X 5 brackets each) rather than 15 with 8mm so it takes a lot more time to shoot and post-process.
