Newbie Bitmaps Problem
show user profile  lightpanther
Okay, so I'm not understanding something pretty basic here. I'm using 3ds max student edition 2015. So far I've been doing tutorials on Lynda.com, which typically come with their own tutorial files for scenes, assets such as bitmaps for use with materials, etc.

Now, however, I am doing a tutorial via youtube and the tutorial calls up bitmaps somewhere in Max itself. That location has a list of folders with names such as "ArchMat" "brick" "concrete" "fabric" "metals" "stones" etc, in other words a long list of materials or image files.

I may just be being stupid, but I can't locate those folders on my system with Windows 7 search, and I don't know where to navigate to in max. Where exactly ARE those files in 3ds max 2015 installation. I set my own project file for doing this tutorial, which I thought was a smart idea, but of course when it comes to assigning any assets, there is nothing in there. Again, apologies if this is a dumb question. I'm sure it won't be my only dumb question.

Could someone help me with this please? It's impossible to move forward.

hopefully u figured it out
