New vray hair material

Check it out, I've did some experiments, since cg carpets look usually fake.
You can use it with the original hair and fur.
Let me know what you think.

its real enough to make this puppy sad that he can't roll in it.

on a serious note, does look much more realistic than what I've seen before from Vray. I wouldn't mind playing around with this one myself. Did you make the material yourself or is it a new preset from Vray?

He who says it cannot be done is interrupting the man doing it.

I've played with the material, actually. I love it, except that it crashes often.

[edit] I've found the crashing cause, it's when you assign hair material to something that is not hair and fur. So, it's fully useable.

I wish Autodesk created as much cool stuff as Chaos group does. They make some amazing software.

Nik - lol..true.

For using vray fur systems you need a very heavy piece of hardware, isn't it.

On an eight core took around five minutes to render 50000 pieces of fur geometry (1280x1024).
Antialiasing on, dmc set to 1 / 8 and 0,01 noise. High preset for irradiance map and something about 1000 subdivisions for light cache.
It is usable by everybody.
