need help texturing a car
hey everyone, i have just finished making a car, and now its ready to be textured, but i have searched up on google and yahoo and i couldent find anything.
i am using 3ds max 9 32 bit.
heres a pic of the car:
its a stock car if you were wondering =P
can anyone please tell me how to get a sheet that looks like this?

you should research UV mapping
the max help files should have all you need to know- to acess them press f1 when max is running

Ive tried texporter, but i cant import the image.
would you know how to import a imp into the material editor?
i have no clue

Just go to where you saved the texporter output and load it in the diffuse slot of a material.
Like the K man said need to learn to 'uv map' and or 'uv unwrap' to get like the image above shows.

ok, i have the unwrapping sorted, its just the importing i need now

you shouldn't need texporter if you've got max 9, in the uv window goto the top menu, tools> render uvw template and save that file
then you can take it into photoshop or whatever
then import it into a material slot- box next to diffuse and a jpg or psd etc
