How to name frame animations?
show user profile  4dzoner
I would like to name each of the animation I did in frames. For example the idle animation 0 A 10, stand 10 to15, jump from 15 to 45, ... How do you do?

If it's so some form of exporter knows where the cycles are, you could put it somewhere in the scene properties. (Properties->File Properties)

Shame max doesn't have better support for animation cycles built in.

eg. in xml not necessary, but it's a useful interchange format.

you could do something like :

<animation id=walk start=0 end=50/>
<animation id=idle start=51 end=90/>

... etc.

For strict XML, the values should be in quotes. I've simplied to keep it clean.

... then obviously, your exporter will need to read & interpret this data.

What a pit..maybe they could make this option in future versions.
But I will use a mix of this solutions.

You can label keys, then go to them from a list.

Hey I just discovered now that the Unity (a game engine that I'm using now), has a option to name you frames. Just use the Import Settings.

Look that page:http://unity3d.com/support/documentation/Manual/Character-Animation.html

But I think that this seems a function to edit with other kinds of software.
Like the link upon. With Unity, or maybe using sapareted animations.
