Evening all.
I wanted to thank everyone for your generosity and help. I started learning 3DS Max 4 months ago through YouTube as I’m sure hundreds of people do every week. I found this forum and had a look around, what I notice where people willing to help those who help themselves first. People who are here to build their portfolio, profile and develop themselves, people who would give the brutal honest truth. I built a previous business with this philosophy and appreciate when people cut the crap and get to the point.
So with the soppy shit out the way.
I’ve made this club for a group of friends who are getting their club ready to open in Blackpool very soon.
Feedback and Comments always appreciated.

Kind regards

Looks good. A few things came to my mind looking at it.

The bricks have a hint of a new course at the top. This looks odd.
There doesn't seem to be any lighting or shadows.
The repeating texture on the wall is obvious.

Keep at it!

something looks funny with the lighting, almost like there's an ambient light or something with no shadows?

Many thanks for the comments.

I've not added lights yet so it's just the default.

I've still got lots to do and I appreciate the pointers to help move forward.

good start. the bricks are way to large though. makes the scene look tiny. the normal brick is normally 2.25" high x 8" wide . yours are at least 6" tall.

Agree with the above - nice work for a first submission.
What render engine will you be working with? Are you going for a photo-real representation or something more pictorial/diagrammatic?

Still getting to grips with everything

As for the final look, I'm not really sure. I've always just been a modeller so I've not learnt much about completing a final scene, but that's what I'm focused on doing.

I plan to learn everything I need to. I sort of talked myself into this project as it's a friend who's opening the bar.

My goal is to produce realistic images and using the populate function with Max 2015, a fly through video so they can use it to show prospective investors and the general public.

Yep big bite for my first project, I work better under pressure.

Yeah I also thought the bricks were to big from rendering that angle. I've made the stage for the material I had instead of the other way round. Guess this is the messy part of learning as you go.

Thanks everyone for all the help.
