Multiple Screen , could it work ?
show user profile  S. Silard
Hey guys , I got now 1more monitor . And I don't know If I'm able to get that 2 monitors working together , as I have just one graphic card . It's : Asus HD 6770
The Both Monitor is TFT .
Ports I have :
And the monitors have both VGA , but I found a converter on internet . And I have HDMI to DVI converter .
Also this little menu makes me think my graphic card can handle 2 screen .
But maybe it can't ... what you guys say ? Should I buy that VGA to HDMI converter ?
Not a lot money , but still don't want to waste it if it's not necessary .

you should be able to get that working.

got two screens on my ati card which is lower spec.

1. dvi->hdmi
2. vga->vga

so with the right convertor you should be able to drive the other screen.

avoid vga whenever possible & keep it all digital though, the output is way better.

first, find out how many screens your card can handle.
I have three monitors plugged into my card in a similar way to your image, but my card can only handle 2 monitors, sadly. So i can choose which two to use at any given time, but until I upgrade cards, I can only use 2

This is doable if the video card supports more than dual ouputs at once. Some card manufacturers *cough ATI cough* will sell you a 3 port video card, but will only support two simultaneous outputs at once. Check the video card manual first.

You can also buy one of those cheap 50 dollar usb video card devices, they work great for 2D output if you want to use it for image references and stuff, wouldn't try and run any kind of 3D output to it.

On a side note: My motherboard both a VGA and a DVI input, but I've always used my graphic cards slots. What's the deal?

ld: usually the onboard video is disabled if you drop a dedicated card in.

ssilard: make sure you get the right cable ofc you don't want digital signal through vga -> hdmi/dvi

you need digital to analog (vga)

so, a converter like this :

not a recommendation, haven't tried it, but you need something like that.

or trade in one of your screens & buy one with a digital input (recommended)

Edit : Actually That's what I found :
For 2.5 Eur or so . Not a big deal .

?

you're not going *to* dvi, you're going *to* vga.

basically don't get one of those cheap ass $2 cables that looks like it fits.

save the $2 and buy a beer with it. will be more useful.

edit: it depends what's in the box. if it's just a pass through, it won't work. for 2.5 euro, that's probably what it is. if there's a digital to analog converter in there (unlikely), it'll do.
