Multi Stage Hydraulic
show user profile  Alleycatzero
Hello all, I'm still new at 3DS MAX, but i have the basics down. Currently I'm learning about Hydraulics, and I have seen several tutorials on YouTube about them and they have helped out greatly with single stage hydraulics and pistons. Now I've come to the roadblock that has frustrated me. Multi Stage Hydraulics. I have tried several constraints with no success. Basically for example I have 2 spheres on each end and three cylinder's between them. See link for pic.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Set up the outer cylinders like a regular hydraulic piston thingy. For the one in the middle, assign a position constraint and add both outer cylinders as targets. Finally, add an orientation constraint and select either of the outer cylinders as target.

Make sure to center the middle cylinder's pivot point first.
