i'm getting a new computer soon, i'll need to know, to get max from my current one to my new one, do i have to like de-register it on this one, uninstall it, then use the same disc and code on the new one? or is it crazy hard, and i should just use my current comp's HDD as a boot disc and leave max on there?

I think you can unistall it from your old computer and just install it in the new one xP there should be no problem with that.. though... I'm not sure xP ask autodesk?

you have a couple options

1. you simply install on the new machine and activate it. believe autodesk allows a couple activations. but to comply with there EULA, be sure to format your old machine/uninstall max

2. use the portable license utility that comes with max. it is found on the start menu under the autodesk group

3. if you are unable to activate on second machine, call autodesk and explain the situation, they should be helpful in getting you activated. done it on multiple occasions with no problem when my lab experienced a couple of hardare failures and purchases of new machines.
