Mountain biking
show user profile  PS3D
Just wondering if anyone was into mountain biking on here?

I've recently got into it, and started off with a half-decent hardtail. Initially it was just for simple trails with the family etc, but now I'm starting to tackle more enduro/downhill trails, and looking for something more suited, with full suspension.

Don't want to spend more than £2000, if possible. Anyone got any thoughts/advice?!

Cheers.

I was into it bigtime when I lived in Australia. Never bothered getting a car, just cycled everywhere.

As for advice... uh, I had the cheapest, shittest bike of my friends but could keep up with them, hence had the biggest leg muscles. So if you want to get built, go cheap. Else, go for front suspension only, fuck rear suspension, it ruins your torque.

I used to think the same Strat! But now i'm hooked big time!

Recently went to see the Mountain bike downhill World cup in Scotland. Now those boys (and girls) have some balls!

Up yours, car driver! All the cool kids are on bikes these days.

I've got a Trek hybrid, so I do off road stuff, but nothing overly aggressive.

I love my bike. I save a ton of cash not having to put £50 of petrol in the car every week.

I've got a Mongoose Tyax 29'er, same as nik, off road, but as it's a hardtail you can't throw it at much without it trying to buck you out of the seat and over the handlebars.

Whatever you get, make sure you pay for a fitting, get it tailor made / adjusted to your body shape.

And yeah cyclists are nobs, I'm not a cyclist, just someone who happens to ride a bike ;)

Car drivers are the biggest wankers.

Mountain bikes are for mountains. Man, I miss the days of doing crazy shit, breaking bones. Too dangerous cycling in Asia, though, since... Asian drivers and all.

I was going to say research your parts, but if your spending £2000 you shouldn't need to.

Mine was "entry level" hard-tail, upgrading the group-set to 10 speed costs half as much as the bike is worth.

You do find him in the kitchen, because that's where the refrigerator is.

Strat likes chilled red wine, the heathen!

What? Someone wants to buy a kitchen? I know this one place that sells kitchens for a very reasonable price.

I'm all about the cross bike, having gotten into mountain biking yet.
