First I'd work out the nearest dimensions, then I'd make a bounding box, then camera match so the spoon in the background fits inside the box. Then I'd go from there... if I were concerned about being as close to accurate.

Else, I'd just wing it. Can use FFD's to adjust later.

Thanks @ herfst1. I would go with camera match :)

That was cool Herfst.

a) I never would have thought to adjust the initial plane with an FFD like that
b) I didn't know you could increase the number of FFD points like that.

But adding that many segments to an ffd box takes away the point with using ffds...why not manipulate the verts directly in that case.

Those photobucket videos never show for me, anyone else have that problem in chrome?

@ Octo, agreed, was just going to and extreme level to emphasize the point. Oh, and I wouldn't actually do it this way, kinda was just fucking around - but there's no harm in seeing a different way to approach a simple object.

[edit] though I do use ffds occassionally for difficult curves, but I go up in steps (2x2, 3x3, 5x5 etc).

They show for me (chrome), but they tend to wig out a lot, can't change timeline, sometimes they end sooner than indicated.

Photobucket's video stuff is just horribly bad.

agree with octapuzzy, when adding many segments there is no need of ffd box. BBS use Mozilla :d. Chrome is gay
