I thought I'd post here as some one might know :)
I am currently with three mobile and have been for almost 7 years. Not long after they were founded. For the last couple of years I have upgraded my phone got a new contract with same number and they always say I am one of their most valued customers, always pay on time been with them for so long etc.
So I get the latest phone for free, I pay about £35 per month for 5000 messages, 1GB internet and 500 minutes on 18 month contract.
Then a few months into my contract I check their site and they seem to offering the same deal if not better to new customers. Then I question the valued customer part.
Should I be expecting better deals from them? Or is this the norm? what are other phone companies like with valued customers?
Some thing inside me keeps thinking I should be getting like 50% off or something, Or unlimited messages, crazy amount of minutes and unlimited data for £25 a month. It may seem un-realistic but I don't know anyone who has been with the same company with same number, never missed a bill for as long as i have to compare contracts with.
Thanks!

Surely its like going to British gas, doesnt matter if youve been there for 50 years or 5 days. they advertise a price and you either take it or go elsewhere. I'd be very surprised if being a 'valued customer' to someone like three mobile counted for anything other than the salesperson trying to butter someone up.

i think i must be the only person i know in existence that doesn't use a mobile phone.
i use it purely as a business commodity, and probably top up no more than £5-10 per year credit on it.
All contract providers, be that for mobile phones, land lines, gas, electricity, tv etc etc treat the customer as expendable. Yes, there are much better deals available to us within our contract with the same provider, but its up to us to ask for them and about them. they wont volunteer that info to us. why should they if we ignorantly happen to be paying a higher tariff to them?
i'm constantly on the phone to all my providers every other month or so asking them to put me on the lowest possible tariff available to me. and a lot of the time the savings are substantial. all you must do is take the initiative and ask.

New customers are more important than old ones.

if you ring up a month before your contract is up saying you want to disconnect and go to another provider they will defiantly improve your deal! They wouldn’t do anything without the need to. They always always offer a better deal if you have been for even a year and say you want to leave them. The market is running out of brand new customers, its all about retaining now.
Im on three's sim only deal, £15 per month, one month rolling contract, unlimited calls to other three numbers, unlimited texts, 1GB of data, 300 minutes. Perfect for me.

i've just switched my combined internet/phone contract over from virgin media to Sky. i didn't really want to as i prefer a cable connection, but the virgin costs are quite crippling.
so a few days to go before the crossover was complete, virgin phoned me, as a super valued customer for 10 years, offering me a 50% discount on my monthly bills for a fixed period of a year.
ferkin tossers. and i told them so. this makes me mad, and they couldn't understand.
