Mirrored objects turn black in viewport

Googled.
Tried to find soluion here.
No luck.

Still struggling to find the cure.

I understand that faces are flipped but somehow it looked correct before.

It is the flipped faces thing I'm pretty sure. Resetting xform then flipping them should work. Else... is your wireframe colour black by any chance? It could be fucking up and showing wireframe colour for some reason.

Have they still not fixed this ?

Max has had an issue with the mirror tool as long as I can remember, xForm after mirror has been the norm for years, apparently the mirror modifier works better.

I'm still in 2016, maybe they fixed it now...maybe not.

I still use the box trick (make a box, edit mesh, align to pivot of your busted object, attach box to the object). I do it via script though, too tedious to keep doing it manually, as you also need to change the name of the object back as it gets replaced with "Box 01" or whatever.

It's a bulding so mirror was massive.

used Reset Xform on that whole half of a bulding.
Worked but gave me some vertex glitches.

Have they still not fixed this ? I'm still in 2016, maybe they fixed it now...maybe not.
I use 2016 too. :|

... apparently the mirror modifier works better.
Good tip. I'll use it in the future.

max 2017 here and no they haven't fixed it. Still have to use the tedious XForm and flip normals process on every mirrored object.

Weird thing is sometime it shows sometimes it doesn't.

It doesn't show when you mirror an object a second time, because faces get inverted twice.
