So ... got a £75 google adwords promo with my insurance.

Checked with google - I can give it to someone else if I like.

Too early to advertise our stuff just yet so, it's a mf tourney 8 round 0 prize.

Your mission - should you choose to accept it is to download, install & unlock Infinity Pro (link in my sig), run through the tutorial to create a basic 3d website. Upload your site. Can be literally anything. Support hotline right here if you run into any problems.

First one back here with a link to an actual site than loads wins the adwords voucher.

It expires at midnight uk time on the 30th so gotta move fast.

I too have a £75 adwords voucher going spare. So i'll through that in the mix too, if you want? so the grand prize would be £150

Not sure if ill have time to participate myself, but ill give it a go later in the week

EDIT. Shit mine expired last month. So prize back to £75 :-(

The prize voucher expires midnight on 30th August (UK time) so must be registered before then.

Checked with google - they have no problem with it being transfered to someone else.

The voucher can only be applied to new adwords accounts - those which are less than 14 days old.

So if you're not using adwords yet, you could register & apply the voucher immediately.

edit: you still rock - it's the thought that counts. :)

browser auth code sent. you'll need another for the exporter.
export a cube or something as xsg to trigger the authorization dialog.

uhm had to run infinity in compatibility mode for it to work and mouse is a little jumpy. isnt there a way to make it windowed mode or change the resolution ?

compatibility mode ? it's a native dx11 app on vista/7 or dx9 on xp.

full screen resolution matches your desktop for now so drop your desktop resolution down if you're getting low frame rates (temp solution - will drop resolution selection in soon). check you haven't enabled high quality override settings in your graphics card control panel settings. (e.g. edge aa, though even that works ok for me - a small frame rate hit but still runs ok & looks much better)

running smooth on my phenom which is probably lower spec than your system.

you can change the mouse responsiveness by going to the preferences screen from the toolbar, switch to the classic ui, then back to the preferences & top slider for input sensitivity.

the slider should be on the other ui's only just noticed it isn't. so that's a win already. thanks.

if you still have problems please let me know the system config & I'll look into it.

obviously ensure your gfx card drivers are up to date & windows update has installed all important patches.

anyone else getting low frame rates on fairly high spec rigs ?

be it is because I'm in windows 8 xP
k ran it in windows mode compatibility mode windows vista sp2 and it works nice :3

If you installed Infinity Pro it should have installed our plugins for you.

There are currently 4 plugins.

1. XSG exporter - try to export a cube - you should have xsg as a new option. XSG is our new 3D website format. Like HTML but for 3D.
Authorizes the same way the browser did.

2. Infinity Toolz - An X-Ref helper at the moment - under the utilty menu addons.

3. Infinity Shader - viewport plugin - under DirectX Manager when max runs in DX9 mode.

4. A jpeg-2000 image format plugin. Load an image - j2k/jp2 are now supported formats.

You only need 1 & 2 to get started but the others are there.

problem is that .. I installed infinity first and then installed max
(formatted not long ago)
can I just copy the files here Infinity\tools.x64\3dsmax\15.0
in max folder?

(just reinstalled inifnity )

Does the whole lot. No coding required.

If you want webpages embedded within the 3D environments, they'll need putting together as normal but if you just want to drop a page in there, there's a couple of lines of text (explained in the tutorial) to configure them.


Even that could be simplified a little when I get around to it.

Beyond the basics you will be able to code up interactivity or drop in interactivity modules designed by others but that's still early work & not quite ready yet. Still early but there's enough there to experiment with if the mood takes you.
