Maxscript operation on materials
show user profile  3joez
Can you point me to some script examples that operate on materials? I'm stuck in a piece of code I'm writing. Need help to collect the materials of a selection to change their properties.

check Neil Blevins script collection. You can see and learn how he writes several parts of his codes when he is working with materials. Particularly MaterialRemover probably has what you want.

Depending on what materials you need to grab, it can be a bit tedious to find the base materials inside composites. What with vray and it's own properties/methods.
Might require lots of case-by-case tests. The 'case of' statement is your friend.
