Max crash
show user profile  Westcoast13
This is a problem that i have had before and never worked out how to stop it.

I have a poly model with a uvw modifier in the stack. Nothing else. I selected the polys to be id2, then clicked on the uvw modifier. I didnt click off edit polygon mode, now, when i go back to the object and click on editable poly in the stack, max crashes. Any suggestions?

is it with all models or just one certaine model? If it is only on one, have you tired to merge it into a new file and see if it still does it? also try to collapse the stack and reset the xform.

I get the same random problem in max 9 sp 2 with some objects; never managed to sufficiently troubleshoot it, I just have to rely on my autobak files when it flips out.

Merge doesn't help as it's something specific to the modifier stack of the object in question. All I can really say is just be careful that you always exit subobject mode before deselecting the object. Not much of a fix, I know.

Same version here mate. Ah well, just have to remember to come out of sub-obj mode like you say. Cheers anyway!
