material specific samples per pixel MR

anybody know if its possible to set the sampling quality for individual materials or objects? some stuff just needs more detail and some less, it would be nice if i could speed up my production renders by not having to spend half the render time on 3 or 4 buckets

A&D materials have specific sampling controls, I presume you are using these and you know this. Do you mean image samples, or material samples?

i mean like the min/max samples per pixel in renderer tab under render setup

Took me a while to find this again, It can be done, but it's messy, and only per object, not per material.

I do remember there was a per-material method, but I can't remember where I saw it. I'll keep hunting.

Agreed, it's a shame not all of the features of MR are implemented in Max.
