material blotching
show user profile  joelr
hello all,

i have done some renderings in vray and im getting some blotches on certain areas with this specific material.
its just a simple vray material, and im using pretty high settings so i think its a material issue and not a settings issue.
im using hdri of course...

thanks in advance,
joel

wow thanks dd,

all i know (and that's not a lot) in max i owe to the kind people here in maxforums.
i learned Max and VRay alone, but none of my friends knows to render at these levels so this place was a great help to me. its also a great inspiration by seeing some amazing work done here, which always makes me want to step-up my game....

Joel

I also think these are fantastic renders. I know it doesnt answer your question but why not take the blotching as is in the render and PS it out? seems most renders require some post production anyhows. The errors you are pointing out are small glitches. photoshop is your friend :) lovely work , keep it up .

edit : who buys 256 sticks ? as for that , who sells em ?

hey davi, your right about that, but im also trying to learn how to avoid these things.
besides, if this was an animation i would have to solve this problem without photoshop

agreed. good point unless you want to PS each frame. I'm sorry but I don't use Vray. You will find the reason though, Go though and change each setting one at a time to see how it effects the render. best advice, good luck!
