MassFX help, please?
show user profile  graceface
First of all, sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong thread/re-posting the same question. I've only just joined and I know how annoying new people can be. So sorry in advance.

I really need some help with massfx so if anyone can suggest help I would greatly appriciate it.

Ok so I've got a scene with boxes, and I want an object to run into the boxes and them fall around said object on impact. But, when I put a massfx onto the boxes and press play, they all just fly away? Gravity is enabled and they're set to dynamic so I don't know why they're doing it.

I've tried it in another max scene and it works from, but if I try to merge in these boxes to the new file then it doesn't work and they fly off again! I've checked out the setting and they're exactly the same. The objects around the boxes are all set to static. The crashing object is set to kinematic because it is key framed. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO AND I'M GOING MAD!

Any advice at all would be amazing..

only thing that comes to mind is to make sure none of your said boxes are intersecting with each other as Ive seen this make things fly all over that place.

Sounds like a problem with scene scale.

I've had this problem as well, very annoying. things just fly up in the air as if they've been detonated
How do you mean scene scale Nik? what needs to be changed?

I think he means just make sure things in your scene are real world size , if you got a car in your scene make sure its not one mile wide or 10mm tall.
