| Masking license plates in a movie |
spoon |
Hi all,
I friend of mine went on a bike trip to austria, and shot some footage with a camera mounted on the bike. He wants to put it on youtube, but not with all the license plates visible. Is there a clever way to mask them without too much effort? The license plates here are yellow with black text, so i thought of a dirty fix by replacing the yellow color in the movie with a smudgy black/yellow color to make them unreadable, but that might have a freaky effect + i don't know of any packages that can do that.
Any ideas?

any dirty trick will have a dirty effect :) the only good way i think is to track each one using a null object and adding whatever on top, be it a blur, a dirt map etc.. goes a lot faster than you would think the other way is manually rotoscoping the plates :o

Spend the time and manually rotoscope the plates replacing them with new cool names or with a cool maxforums plate :-)

Ive used NukeX to do things like this , the tracker works real well and you can download the demo from the website, it will work for 15 days.
