Local Values and Track View

Hey All,
this is one of those problems thats been plaguing me for years. And this time, even though Im on deadline, Im going to take a minuet and reach out to you all for some - illumination.

I am animating in track view
I have an object with rotate selected for transform - local rotations is selected

the object has no parent (scene root)
I open Track View
To animate along the Z axis (Local Gizmo Blue Ring) in track view
I have to manipulate the red X controls( in Track View.)
What Gives?!?

This is odd because most times its accurate but every once and awhile I deal with the above.

thanks for any help

Not sure but I'll take a guess it's because you haven't resetted Xform. Try that and see if z is blue.

If you created the object in an orthographic view other than Top, the axes are aligned differently.
As herfstsy says: realign the pivot to World, add a ResetXForm and collapse.
