Looking for some local artists for 6 feature films...
show user profile  ssava
Hi all!

So in October we are starting 6 animated feature films.

It's very exciting. And you'll please forgive me if I'm NOT counting on ANYTHING happening.
I'm a skeptical, bitter, old man now....ha ha.

Having spent the last 15 years in Hollywood. Dealing with all the crap. I just need to get that out there up front.

:)

We've been asked to produce 6 feature films. They will be done in Nashville.
We're using Max.

The projects start in October. There will be work for 7 years.

At this point. I'm told the financing is already there. And we are DEFINITELY starting in October.

Because of refunds by the state of Tennessee...I need to have a group of artists local. Living in Tennessee.

So I was hoping to get an idea of the talent pool of artists either LIVING in the state...or willing to relocate.

If anyone is interested...please post links to your best work.

We're looking for modellers, riggers, TDs, and animators.

Thank you all.

I'm interested, I'm based in the UK though.

I've sent you a private message through your website.

Cheers.

Thanks all!

Links to anything are best. I get so many emails a day through the site that it's almost impossible to keep up with them.

This is all I have until i can run some data retrieval on my hard drive. Most of these works are very old and incomplete, and please forgive the old lady's hair as it was a quick and temporary fix for demonstration purposes.

If you actually 'import' people not currently living in the US, I'm quite interested.
I didn't get that impression by your first post but if that's the case, take a look at my stuff here:

scott, fucking hell mate...

i'll be weary on the formal congrats but it's something at least to need to start the process of getting involved in something like this.

these features wouldn't have anything to do by any chance with a certain major studio/animation house folding once located in san francisco... cause i knew those movies would need to go somewhere.

Couple answers...

1) These jobs are NOT salary. They are freelance.

That being said...we can pay a good advance to help cover costs of moving.

2) These are 6 animated movies completely new to production. They're actually based on my books.

So they're going to be of the "Cartoony" variety. And more family fair.

Also...forgot to mention...

The director will be Tony Bancroft (of Mulan, Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast fame).

Hi Scott,

Here are a few links to some examples of my work:

This is a portfolio website that is in the process of being built, but it contains most of my up to date 3D work.
http://www.stevenpaulwheeler.com/

This website is for a documentary film I'm making, which has some CG examples.
http://www.liverpooloverheadrailway.com/

This is a website I built for a client, all of the CGI work was created by myself over a year ago, (kids fantasy genre). I'm actually tweaking the animations right now.

This is a link on maxforums for a character I built a couple of years ago, and is the next thing on my 'to do list'.

I'm travelling out to South Carolina later this summer to visit my sister, I plan to travel around a bit, I have friends who live in a border town in GA, and so I could make it out to Tennesse. I Went there a few years ago and camped out in the Smokey Mountains. I absolutely loved it there.

Cheers.

Hey congratulations Scott! I so hope this works out for you.
I really enjoy your comic and check in quite regularly... you obviously put a lot of time and energy into your work and imo deserve a big break like this.
Best of luck!!

Would a resume or something to that effect be useful also?
