Linking Biped to Dummy Using Motion Mixer
show user profile  FX
I'm having a right ballache of a time with the Motion Mixer, initially it seemed the best way to make an animation that is synced to a music track.

I have a dummy linked to the root of the biped which I animate...motion mixer controls all the animation loops which i can easily sync to the sound track by adjusting the clips.

Problem is the biped jumps to a new position when I enable motion mixer, and when i load clips into the mixer the biped jumps again.

Enabling the in place option fixes all the jumping, but obviously prevents me animating the dummy.

Move all mode just doesn't behave as it should, collapse is greyed out etc etc.

If been at this for a good few hours, searched the web to find similar issues but with no solutions, there's no real workflow defined for doing this documented anywhere.

The animations are all in one bip file, I've tried saving out the segments via the motion panel, and also via the "collapse" function it the mixer panel, but can't seem to fix the animation jumping to a new position.

The dummy also gets kinda funky and never stays in the same position...

...anyway I'm on the verge of dropping the gig If I can't figure this out, I know hardly anyone uses the mixer theses days..advice is thin on the ground..anyone have any suggestions to iron out the workflow and tame these random position jumps ?

Solution seems to be not to use the "Move All Mode" in any way shape or form, just use the linked dummy to position, makes sense really, using the move all mode is altering the sub-pivot (or whatever it's called) resulting in the jumping.
