Lightwave Users: background radiosity Q
show user profile  Reality Man
Any lightwave users here?

I watched part of this tutorial (video) and the guy used background radiosity----he had live footage in the background and took a single frame and used that to light the object in the scene....which gave the object color tones matching the footage.
i.e. yellow tones on top and darker ground tones on the bottom.
the end result was super realism.

What would be the equivalent of this in 3ds max if any?
HDRI?

Yes, that sounds like HDRI being used to illuminate a scene.

ok so then it's possible to have footage (live) that is in HDRI format??

if so, I did not know that.
