Lightning tuts/no-how
show user profile  9krausec
I wanted to know how to make lightning travel sporadically from one point to another. I have no clue how to do this, and I couldn't spot any tutorials on lightning with 3d studio max, so I thought some of you wonderful chaps would have some insight in some 3d lightning. I don't know if Pf Source would be able to do this or what could.. Any pointers in the right direction will be very super.....

What are you trying to do? i'm having a hard time picturing what "make lightning travel sporadically from one point to another" would look like.

Are you talking about lighting a scene? or lighting effects such as glow?

Unless you find a special plug in i think your gonna have to model the lightning yourself. Or use a avi/gif that has lightning in it.

site seems to be down at the moment though- might be other copies online somewhere else though- i didn't look
no leaves obviously with a self illum material
i think it was markanoid's image of jesus playing a fender on the mount that used it- as far as i know anyway

What I am looking for is something simple that gives the effect of lightning striking between two points.
