Light tube in 3ds max help. Thank you!
Hello, I'm new with lighting in 3ds max. I want to simulate this scene:
How can i make that tube glow and in the same time to cast light? I tryed to do something with standard lights but it didn't worked very well. Or there may be a way to create the texture of the bulb to be a light radiant.

You can try self illumination (not sure where the setting is for A&D, not a mental ray user).
In vray I'd put a light (which is rectangular) just below the tube and pointing downwards with the same colour as the glow. I'm sure there's something similar in mental ray.

Vray has light material, Final render has object light, not sure about mental ray, never used it.
Check this thread for tips......

MR omni light has a "cylindrical" option that should do just this.

You are welcome. I believe the Photometric light has this option as well.
