Lego Short Film..
show user profile  ScotlandDave
Thought i`d create a thread to post updates on the Lego stuff i`m working on as a personal project.. Spent enough time over the past few years using 3d for work or just messing around, and have had a few ideas for more creative things and this is one of them. Yet to be seen if i`ll finish it :)

Basically it started off as an idea for a fight scene and has progressed from there. Started creating some assets and here`s the progress including the IronMan and Bane renders if anybody missed them in the So, what are you working on? thread.

Teaser trailer for the Bane character ( Vimeo link to follow ):

It`s pretty dark/scary but there will be a lot of ridiculous humour in the finished short film i`m hoping.

The music/audio is my own too -

And here`s the test renders so far:

The Tumbler design is by a guy called Brent Waller who created it and got over 10,000 votes towards it becoming an official Lego set ( ). Basically i used a lego builder program called LDraw ( MLCad ) to build the Tumbler based on Brent`s instruction, and imported into C4D for fixing up, texturing etc..

Will post more updates as and when..

About time! I was actually going to suggest you start a thread on this.

Awesome teaser trailer. You know, it would be funny/ironic if you just stuck with the dark theme throughout and screwed the "funnies." Keep that soundtrack too. If it were me I'd also do a backstory of Bane's morphine addiction, showing him scoring heroin off the streets and shooting up. Feel free to steal the idea.

This has got some real viral potential, reddit will probably lap it up. Nice work so far!

Love that mask. If you need some Lego buildings or stuff made I'd be happy to chip in.

It's nice but the details are far too small to be in-keeping with Lego's style.

Thanks chaps.

Yeah MrG that is true, i had to make a decision on that. The only reduction in complexity i made to the original mask design ( apart from the ear bits being quite roughly done ) was three nose pipes in the middle instead of four..

[edit] HerrFist - thanks for the offer dude, i might consider it :) Sortof running with the Marvel Superheroes style of more or less `realistic` buildings mixed with certain parts in Lego brick form atm.. Quite a lot to do just to build up a simple environment either way.

I was browsing around the website Creative Bloq last week, and noticed they occasionally post about Lego stuff.. So i decided to send them a quick email with a link to the Bane teaser video and some of the renders on this page thinking they might be interested..

Well they didn`t respond or share my video, but what they did do was post a tutorial on how to `Create your own Lego Superhero`:

Anyway, working on some walk and run cycles will post an update soon hopefully.
