Edit: So if I'm understanding this correctly one could setup a whole pythonic based pipeline. If you had let's say 500 products setup you could create custom scripts and operations to shoot to each program down the pipe..

So select a Maya base file, perform xyz operations, push to Deadline (also supports Python), render it out, shoot to Nuke, perform some standardized composting on the output (Python) and then drop output off in designated location.

If you had for instance 500 cars setup in a standardized fashion and wanted to render out a profile of all of them with a blue body color, you could essentially setup an automation process to do that for 500 base files from start to finish... So damn cool.
