KeyboardEntry rollout not creating objects in correct axis

When I create a plane using the KeyboardEntry rollout with 0,5,0 as the X,Y,Z values respectively, the object is created at the coordinates 0,0,5. These values are shown at the bottom of the screen under the frame slider when using the move command (W)

I don't understand why this is happening and it's driving me nuts.
This happens when AutoGrid is on and off, also happens in view, local, world, etc.
Am I missing something?

You could be in orthographic view...

Y & Z are flipped when you are in orthographic compared to perspective view.
