It's politics. Their problem is lack of popularity due to the state of British & European politics.

The dumbed down solution to complex problems is of course a graphics rebrand.

There's nothing wrong with their logo which is fine imo. Actually better than fine. I like it.

Could evolve it a little - extrude into 3d, bevel the edges.

Drop that in a 3d site with a bumpy shiny material over it. Will come up nice.

They want fresh, new & dynamic. That says next gen 3D web to me. But it would ...

edit: @ross - reading very much between the lines - figuring out what they need rather than what they've asked for is my angle here. Ignore my bs & apply for the job if you want it.

The rebrand they require imo has nothing to do with graphic design - its core. They should replace Nick Clegg with Tim Farron as leader. That's politics not graphic design.

what I would change yesterday is this feking awful banner at the top of their facebook page.

It's been like that for more than a year. Didn't even change it at Christmas.

I also wouldn't post text messages full of jpg artifacts as the last guy did. palettized png is your friend.
but we all know that cause we know what we're doing :)

Hey this sounds like not fun. I fail at 1,2,3,4,5 and 7. But I'm all good with 6.

Let me know if I qualify.

Waiting with baited breath.

Actually, just being a tool. It's good of you to post this, AS. But I seriously fail at 1,2,3,4,5 and 7.

I'm not interested in being their graphics design grunt but for fun lets see if I can work through the list.

1. Love me the odd skirmish.

Using design to communicate political messages.

Try this :

Of course, he can't be president if we leave the European Union so we'll have to stay in.

Sorry ukip. kingdoms are a daft idea. I prefer a meritocracy.

5 & 6. not a problem.

the rest - see maxforums artist portfolios. plenty of pros here to choose from - take your pick.

done :)

/goes back to 3d browser R&D. update soon. maybe even later today.

Less popular than UKIP.

The libdems have proven to be spineless liars and have pretty much assured that they will never have any power again.

Tim Farron hasn't lied. He kept the university tuition fee pledge and voted against an increase in fees.

Clegg must be replaced for the reason you stated.

If the party replaced Nick Clegg with Tim Farron, would you find them more to your liking ?

What else would you like the party to change ?

I've spoken to both of them. From Clegg I got "I can't" - wrt to a request to keep his promise to vote against any increase in university tuition fees if elected.

Tim Farron said the following :

ofc it's politics. unfortunately maxforums being structured the way it is, this thread is top of the board so can't be easily ignored by anyone not interested in the subject.

@spoon - some way for mods to 'shunt' a fringe interest post into category only display rather than total board top item may be the way to go. without that a subject that could just tick on for those interested is going to get slammed by those who aren't. for example - those outside the EU won't give a toss. many inside won't either :)

those who don't get involved in politics are governed by those who do. that said, the effect any of us can make is limited so going rabid about it isn't worth the effort. others will listen if they're interested & will ignore or slam if they're not.

AS, that page is a real face-palm.
You are right. The Libdems totally need a 3D website.

P.S. Red text on purple will be invisible to certain colour-blind people.

> Red text on purple will be invisible to certain colour-blind people.

top menu, rightmost entry - configure.

change the colour theme if it's not to your liking.

it's more than facepalm, it's a total embarassment.

10.5 years to complete a form & still not done.

slow economic growth in the UK because the UK business department can't be arsed doing *anything*.
