Same old stuff, new year.

This is something I started with a friend of mine. He is doing the amazing concepts and I am going to try to do the 3d.
http://mr--jack.deviantart.com/gallery/

The black and white images are the start of the concepting

And my Zbrush thus far. No work on the teeth yet.

really freaking nice as always man. if I'm nitpicking I'd say if the teeth were uneven and crooked it'd add even more to the sinister look. your friend has got some crazy skill - looking forward to tuning back in.

CQ - HI :P

Toldaddy - Thanks. I agree about the teeth. I need to figure out how I want them to go into the bone areas. I have not decided if they will be like normal teeth with sort of a socket or if they willl form flush into the bone. And yeah more uneven is needed a ton. As far as the concepter, yeah he is awesome. Great guy to work with too :)

Seth - Do it!!!! As far as the horns they were just poly modeled. I started with a sphere for concepting. Then I did zshpere sculpting but I was just not getting the right form so I went back to max and poly modeled a solid base from scratch. It probably took longer but I was able to get the loops and forms that my lack of skills were not able to get in Zbrush.

mama - Thanks. I like Diablo so that is fine with me :)

Bonz - Thanks. Waiting on some body drawings on my friend to go from here

inxa - Thanks

Morning doodle before some texturing. I have no clue. I did a quick shape from alchemy and then drew over it.

Lunch Drawing

Took a sphere, added some noise. Symmetry and then print screen. Sometimes this helps me get out of straight on profiles I tend to do so much because of my lack of 3d drawing skillset.

Carry on

little bit confused. you took the 2d sketch and added it to a 3d sphere then took it back into PS? it's a cool sketch man. =)

hey if you're taking requests for your next side 'for fun' project, I vote this little badass:

love the concept. I know you lean more organic, but it might be cool to see how you tackle something like this.

Mama - yeah I hear you. I am about to do something start to finish for a thing. Probably do a painting due to time constraints but might do something in 3d. With work and a family I just don't have the focus to do anything long term but I should.

Daddy - Yeah that one is cool Luke, the guy who painted it, sits about 30 feet from me :) As far as the sphere thing I did it in max. I just made a sphere, added noise, sutrbo smooth, more noise, repeat and symmetry. Then I change the seed values and amounts of the various noises to get a cool shape. Print screen, no lights really and paint over that. This gets me out of my front on and profile painting which I tend to lean towards due to lack of skill.

K - no progress yet. I have done some more detailing and started a body base but nothing worth showing.

Thanks for the interest and kind words :)
