Jagged Edges in Mental Ray
show user profile  altinnovation
Hi, I am quite new to 3ds max (4 months), and for some reason whenever I render one of my building models in Mental Ray, I get these jagged edges that I cannot get rid of.
It all looks good with a Scanline Renderer.

Below are some images of what the problem is:

As you can see, I have these jagged shadows running through some of my faces. The only unusual things in this is that I used one UVW Map for the whole model, with mapping set to BOX.

As you can see the windows also reflect some weird edges.

All of the mentalray settings are at original values in Max 2009, and none of my other projects exhibit this problem.

If anyone has any clues as to what is causing this, it would be very appreciated,
Thanks :)

Set "Samples per pixel" from 1/4 and 4 to 1 and 16.

Hmm... no use. I even set it as 4 - 64 and it is still exactly the same.

You are rendering through a perspective camera correct? I have noticed mental ray does not like orthographics
