is this workflow Ok?

It wold be a lie if I say that I'm pretty comfortable with default weights that Skin modifier take in to account when i add the relevant bones. But im pretty happy with physique modifier's initialize function is giving. but every one advice me to use skin, for its more customizable when adjusting weights at per vertex level. so i tried this workflow of first initializing the whole thing as much as I can with Physique, and use Physique to Skin utility to convert Physique modifier to Skin and do more fine tuning in per vertex level. Is there any negativity in this method in production environment?
