Hi guys

Any idea how i can go back and forth and manage my iphone media collection using my XP64 machine?
itunes doesn't work in XP64 and my other usual suspect (copytrans) needs itunes installed in the first place to work.

any download ideas (preferably free)?

I do that and it works fine, just DON'T TRY TO UPDATE YOUR PHONE.

Froze, lost everything on it.

*edit* I mean update as in update the software, not sync it.

thanks guys

toldaddy - yup, i'm aware of that hack, but my computing knowledge isn't fluid enough to attempt it. :(

poop - what you saying mate? there's not a chance of upgrading my device o.s. just yet. 3.0 isn't stable enough as far as wi-fi is concerned.

You can upgrade it on another PC, I used my friends to do it. It won't erase the songs or anything, just update it on a different computer. You can still sync it and do everything normally on yours.

poop - ah, that's the easy answer. My iPod links perfectly with iTunes at home, I'm looking for a connection in work ;)

strat, the hack above isn't that hard... the instructions are step by step... have you even given it a shot?

once you do it, bring from home your itunes folder and the itunes database file, and copy them to your work computer.

you'll be able to sync then between the two without issue. though, on your end when you add music to one side or the other, you'll have to manually copy the (new) music and bring over the database file again.

though, even that can be set up to be automatic with another program or two.

*wishes for a day when itunes server and iphoto server worked to help remedy the pain of multiple sync points*
